Geophysical System Verification – A Physics-Based Alternative to GPOs
Type: On-Demand Video
GSV On-Demand Video
ESTCP, in collaboration with the Services, state and federal regulators, and the National Association of Ordnance and Explosive Waste Contractors (NAOC), has designed a new approach as a physics-based alternative to geophysical prove-outs (GPO).
This on-demand video of a course given in December 2009 presents the physics basis of GSV, outlines key elements of this approach (instrument verification strip and production blind seeding program), and describes its implementation on an example site. Access modules below. In addition, the material in its entirety is available in PDF format.
| Module 1 | Introduction / Objectives (7:10 min) Presented by Mr. Jim Austreng, California Department of Toxic Substance Control |
| Module 2 | Physics Basis for Geophysical System Verification (20:09 min) Presented by Dr. Tom Bell, SAIC |
| Module 3 | Geophysical System Verification Concepts (17:21 min) Presented by Mr. Jeff Swanson, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment |
