Technology Transfer and Information Exchange:

Transferring technology is a principal goal of SERDP. Accordingly, SERDP has taken significant steps to facilitate and enhance technology transfer and use.

  • SERDP's annual Partners in Environmental Technology Technical Symposium and Workshop, which is co-sponsored by the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP), is a technical exposition held each fall that provides keynote policy addresses, technical presentations on focused topical areas, exhibits, and networking opportunities.
  • The Partners in Environmental Technology Information Bulletin is distributed quarterly to more than 15,000 people at all levels of private and governmental sectors. The Bulletin features accomplishments, articles on management initiatives, and highlights of Program development issues.
  • A listing of SERDP products and publications is updated annually. It includes reports, papers, videos, patents, and other publications.
  • SERDP’s traveling display is featured at many of the nation’s premier environmental R&D meetings throughout the year.
  • The SERDP National Environmental Technology Test Sites (NETTS) Program is a comprehensive technology demonstration, evaluation, and transfer program in the Environmental Restoration Thrust Area. It is a Tri-Services and EPA effort to reduce the cost and accelerate the pace of remediation technology development and deployment. NETTS provides the following sites for applied research and comparative demonstration and evaluation of numerous innovative and potentially cost-effective cleanup, site characterization, and monitoring technologies. The NETTS locations are listed below.
    • Dover Air Force Base (Dover, Delaware)
    • Naval Construction Battalion Center (Port Hueneme, California)

These test locations are available for use by both public and private sector technology developers.
